You can register securely online during our registration window. This typically falls around August and we will post registration links and instructions on the Facebook page. You’ll receive a confirmation email once you complete your online registration. Please note that we accept registrations on a first-come, first-serve basis and registration is “one-time-only” for the entire program year. We cap our program at 150 students.

Children ages 5-16 can enroll in the program. Children must be 5 years by the start date of the program.

Due to the popularity of our program, we have had an overwhelming response. We encourage you to register as early as possible.

We strongly believe that a clear line of communication is of paramount importance for your child’s learning and well-being in the program. We maintain a very active and frequently updated Nepali Class Boston Facebook Group page. Please make sure you join the group so we can keep you in the loop. If your child is enrolled this year, make sure that you join the Nepali Class Boston Parents’ Alliance Corner (NCBPAC) Facebook group as well. We also have a mandatory Parent Information session before the start of the program each year. This is a great opportunity for parents to meet the staff, meet and mingle with other parents, hear about the program goals and research behind it, community outreach, parent involvement, staffing, daily schedules, communication, and much more!

On daily basis, we send all the communications (including homework) via cluster emails. In addition, any general announcement is sent from ncb@nepaliclassboston.org.

Yes. We offer a variety of special events throughout the program, September-June, including but not limited to Sports Day, family potlucks in collaboration with NCBPAC, Dashain/Kite-Flying celebration, movie day, Easter Egg Hunt, Parents Day, ice-cream socials, etc.

We don’t push them to. However, we do encourage each child to at least attempt everything. Our staff works to help children overcome fears and hone skills towards learning experiences.

We do have a discipline policy that’s outlined in our Student Handbook. We believe in taking a positive approach to behavior management by providing structure, excellent role models and praise for good behavior. However, we reserve the right to terminate, without a formal hearing, the participation of a child whom we believe has violated the conditions of participation or has become a hindrance to the group or the goals of the program.

Children are assigned to groups based on a variety of variables including grade, age, and whether they are new or returning. Our goal is to create co-ed groups of similarly aged children in which learning and new friendships can thrive.

Any child who can manage in a typical school setting should thrive at Nepali Class Boston. We have a staff certified and trained in working and meeting the diverse needs of the children with special needs. However, because children’s safety is of paramount importance, some physical or emotional accommodations might require extra help given our limited resources. Please call or email to discuss your child’s specific needs and to see if this program is a good fit.

Your child needs a 2-subject notebook and writing utensils. Books will be provided by the program on the second week of the program. Please ensure that your child comes in every Sunday with these.

We do not provide lunch/snacks during the program. However, we request parents to pack a hearty snack and a drink for the children. Nepali Class Boston is a nut free program so please be mindful when packing your child’s snacks.

Nepali Class T-shirts are given to the children on the first day of the program, free of cost. Returning students are encouraged to wear the t-shirts from the previous year if they still fit. Wearing the t-shirt is mandatory for safety reasons and it also helps foster a sense of belonging to the school community. Children should wear their t-shirts with pride!

The benefits of volunteering at Nepali Class Boston are many. We facilitate our children’s cultural and linguistic journey. We are the bridge between their two worlds so that they can have the best of both worlds! It is also a great way to gain valuable hands-on, field experience for your resume and more importantly practice the collaboration and teamwork skills that almost all employers are looking for in today’s job market. Our staff leadership team is made up of educators and administrators who can offer career tips, references, and open doors for you to new personal and professional opportunities.

Each position comes with responsibilities that you will be held accountable for. We invest significant time into choosing the right person for each position and expect our staff to communicate, commit and deliver. To reach our goal of providing our children with the safest, happiest, healthiest, and a fun-filled learning experience, it requires a fully committed staff, both individually and collectively. If each individual does more than is asked of them, then the entire Nepali Class Boston community flourishes. Children will always challenge you to be at your best. By NO means is this job easy, but it is fun and very rewarding. Your experience at Nepali Class Boston will prove to be invaluable and memorable for a lifetime.

Nepali Class Boston is a purely volunteer-run program and all of our candidates go through an extensive application and screening process that includes a written application, personal interview, professional references and checks with the Criminal Offender Record Investigation (CORI). We’re fortunate to have almost 100% of our staff return to work at NCB year after year.

Our staff range in age from 16 to over 40 years old, with an average age of 25. Each member of our team has a knack for working with children and an enthusiasm for life that rubs off on all of our children.

It varies depending on the new resources we get each year. But on average, we have 20 volunteers - including the Youth volunteers.

You must e at least a junior in high school or 16 years old to apply to our Youth Volunteer program. You will also have to file the Youth Volunteer application form online and come in for an interview.

You will be required to complete over 20 hours of staff training in August/September which will cover all aspects of the program and expectations of your role as a staff member. Staff training also gives you an opportunity to get to know other staff and for all of us to form a strong and supportive community going into a new year.
